This article will explain how to use the Aginet customer app
Welcome to the Aginet app! This easy-to-use tool helps you manage your TP-Link router and network devices from anywhere. Here’s a simple guide to help you get the most out of the Aginet app.
Logging In to the Aginet App:
-
Download the Aginet App
First, download the Aginet app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. -
Create or Log In to Your TP-Link Account
Open the app, and you’ll be asked to log into your TP-Link account. Don’t have an account? No worries—just create one! This account lets you manage your network, even when you're away from home. -
Connect to Your TP-Link Router’s Wi-Fi
Make sure your phone is connected to your TP-Link router’s Wi-Fi network. The Aginet app will automatically detect your network and ask if you'd like to connect the app to it. -
Firmware/Software Update
After logging in, the app will check for any firmware or software updates and complete them automatically.
1. Checking the Status of Your Network and Devices
On the Home Screen, you’ll see an overview of your network:
-
Nodes: This refers to the number of routers and mesh devices you have in your network.
-
Clients: This shows the number of individual devices currently connected to your network.
If there are any issues, like a disconnected mesh device, you’ll see an alert here. If everything’s working well, you’ll see a message saying, "Everything looks good!"
Checking Device Status:
-
View Connected Devices
Scroll down on the Home Screen to see a list of all connected devices. -
Signal Strength
Each device’s signal strength is displayed in a simple format. If you tap on a device, you’ll get more details, including the dBm rating (which should be between -30 and -70, with closer to -30 being better) and the channel it's using.
2. Checking Mesh Node Signal Strength:
-
Network Map
On the Home Screen, tap on the graphic that shows your router and mesh nodes. -
Select a Node
Tap on any mesh node to see its signal strength. You’ll get the dBm rating (again, aiming for a value between -30 and -70).
3. Setting Up Parental Controls
-
Go to the 'Family' Tab
At the bottom of the screen, tap on the 'Family' tab to open the family settings page. -
Create a Profile
Tap 'Create a Profile' at the bottom of the page. -
Enter Profile Details
Type the name for the profile and select the person's age range. -
Add Devices to the Profile
On the next screen, you'll be asked to add devices connected to that person’s profile, such as their mobile phone, laptop, or gaming consoles. Select all relevant devices and tap 'Done'. -
Set Up Rules and Restrictions
Now, you can set up rules and restrictions for the profile. Here’s what each option means:- Filtered Content: Choose from pre-selected options to block or allow certain content. You can add or remove what you wish to block.
- Blocked Content: Add custom websites you want to block (e.g., YouTube). Simply type in the website address and tap 'Done'.
- Bedtime: Set a bedtime schedule to turn off network access at a specific time for all devices in the profile. You can set different routines for weekdays and weekends.
- Time Limits: Set a time limit on how long the profile can access the network across all their devices. You can also set different limits for weekdays and weekends.
4. Setting Up a Guest Network
-
Access Guest Network Settings
From the Home Screen, tap the More button at the bottom of the app. Then, select Guest Network at the top of the screen. -
Create a New Network
You can now set up a second network for guests in your home. Choose the Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, or 6GHz) based on your needs:-
2.4GHz is best for smart home devices.
-
5GHz or 6GHz is better for devices that need high-speed internet.
-
-
Set a Password and Security Level
Create a password for the guest network and select the security level to protect it.
