Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues with Solar Panels

This is a brief overview of why your solar panels may not be working with Connect Fibre.

Solar Panels

In our experience if you're having Wi-Fi issues with your solar panels, the manufacturer will be able to help you resolve this.

The Wi-Fi technology built into solar panels can often be on the basic side which can lead to some compatibility problems. Please seek advice from the manufacturer if you are having issues as in the majority of cases they will be able to help resolve the problem with you.

Another check would be to stand with your mobile phone and check the signal levels on the Wi-Fi to ensure you are still getting a signal near where your solar panel is located. If not, consider using a Connect Mesh range extender.

Advanced Troubleshooting

In some cases splitting the Wi-Fi bands can be a good workaround to help resolve compatibility issues. This is only recommended if you have a good technical understanding.

It is not uncommon for solar panel equipment to experience issues when connecting to routers that either combine both Wi-Fi frequencies (2.4 and 5Ghz) or use different Wi-Fi technologies.

If you are tech savvy, we can help you with splitting the bands. In some instances splitting the bands, connecting the device and then remerging your network will resolve the issue. But please do not attempt this unless you are confident in your technical skill.

With device issues such as these, the issue the compatibility of the solar panel equipment, and not an issue with our router. Please contact your manufacturer first for assistance as they will be the expert in the Solar Panels you have.

If they are unable to resolve the issue please contact our Support Team for further assistance!
