How do I release and renew my IP in the Linksys App?

A quick guide on how to release and renew your IP on the Linksys Mobile App

If you are having trouble connecting to the network in some instances releasing your IP may help. Keep in mind that when you tell your router to release its IP address, it loses its connection to the internet. What you are doing is releasing your current address and requesting a new one, effectively disconnecting and reconnecting.

How to release your IP on the app:

  • First off open the app and hit on the three little lines in the left hand corner to open the Menu
  • Look for Network Administration

IP release 01

  • When you are in the Network Administration page, look for IP Details, click on this menu.

IP release 02

  • When you are in IP Details you will see Release and renew. Clicking on this will release your current IP address and a new one will be assigned to you (sometimes the same one as previously if it is still available).

IP release 03

  • Once your IP has been released and renewed you will get a message at the top of your screen saying IP address renewed. You now have a new IP and this may have solved your connection issue!
