How do I set up my USB stick for recording with Connect TV?

A guide to setting up your USB stick for recording with Connect TV.

Most USB sticks need formatting before they can be used by a device, but this is a relatively easy process to do! All you need is your laptop or desktop computer, a little time, and your USB stick!

We recommend using a USB stick with a storage capacity between 32GB- 1TB so you have plenty of space to store your recordings. It is also the manufacturers recommendation that you use a SanDisk USB stick.

Please note: If this is USB Stick you've used previously and saved things on, please back it up BEFORE formatting otherwise all of the content will be erased with no way of recovering it.

Formatting your USB Stick:

  • Insert your USB stick into one of your laptop's or Desktop computer's USB ports
  • Right-click the USB drive and select 'Format'.
  • Select the 'File System' as 'NTFS' and tick the 'Quick Format' option.
