How do I factory reset my Connect Fibre Linksys router?

A guide with simple instructions factory resetting your Connect Fibre Linksys router.

Factory Resetting a node

A factory reset is an easy way to resolve issues you may be having with connection or if your Connect Mesh nodes are not behaving correctly on your network. Please be aware that this can take time so ensure you have time to relax while you do it! 

Factory resetting your equipment will bring it back to the default settings out of box. If you need to amend your Wi-Fi name/password you will be able to do so once the equipment is reconnected. 

Please note: If you have Connect Mesh and suspect that a factory reset will help resolve an issue on one of your child nodes. You must factory reset your main router first, and then any child nodes that you have.

If you have Connect Mesh and are factory resetting your main router, you will also need to factory reset all of your child nodes and set them back up.

Factory Resetting your Router

  • Find the reset button on the bottom of your router.
  • Position your router so you can see the light on the top. 
  • Press and hold the reset button. 
  • You will see the light pulse red, do not let go until the light goes out. Important: If you see any other light pattern, please try this step again.
  • Please wait for 10 minutes as the light on the top of the router will cycle through different colours while it is resetting itself. 

Factory Resetting your Connect Mesh 

  • Power off your Connect Mesh nodes and bring them close to the main router. 
  • Power on one of your Connect Mesh nodes. 
  • Position your router so you can see the light on the top. 
  • Press and hold the reset button. 
  • You will see the light pulse red, do not let go until the light goes out. Important: If you see any other light pattern, please try this step again.
  • Please wait for 10 minutes as the light on the top of the router will cycle through different colours while it is resetting itself. 
  • When the Mesh node is on a steady purple please go onto the Linksys App and complete Setting up your Linksys Mesh Node.
