About the Role

 

We’re looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our Installations Team and be the point of contact for our engineers.
This is a full time, permanent role and we’re looking for people with solid experience in a similar type of role, providing field support & guidance to the team.

You should be Health & Safety conscious and have great attention to detail, as well as –

  • Experience & knowledge of fibre including FTTP installation, fibre blowing & splicing
  • Excellent communication skills to deal effectively and professionally with customers.
  • Proactive attitude in the resolution of engineering obstacles, conferring with management & ensure compliance processes and procedures
  • Flexibility to undertake works outside core working hours.
  • Awareness & understanding of BT Open reach network and PIA
  • Network build understanding - Ducts & poles, be able to read a plan drawing
  • Awareness and understanding of COSHH

We’re also looking for certifications including –

  • NRSWA – unit 2 signing, lighting & guarding
  • SA001 safety overhead
  • SA002 safety underground
  • IPAF
  • S7 PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation Underground
  • S8 PIA Cable Installation Overhead

 

Key Accountability & Responsibility

Due to the fast-growing nature of our business, you should be a self-starter who is health and safety conscious and have great attention to detail.

 

  • Provide field-based supervision to an engineering team.
  • Take accountability for the quality of all tasks carried out, both in fibre installation & small civil works.
  • Repair and report faults whilst effectively communicating with all relevant parties to maintain positive relationships
  • Ensure all issues are rectified as quickly as possible
  • Act as a point of escalation for the field installation team
  • Provide support to the engineering team as and when required
  • Ensure all service KPI’s are met
  • Ensure the engineers are managing their stock levels efficiently
  • Ensure all queries and enquiries are responded to swiftly
  • Identify and proactively address any development or performance issues within the team
  • Ensure all administration duties are carried out



Knowledge & Skills

Ideally you will have the following although training can be provided for the right candidate 

  • Knowledge of or experience working on Openreach network
  • Desirable - Openreach PIA Duct & PIA Pole Survey Valid Accreditations. SA001, SA002, A8, S5 S11, N23, N27, N28
  • Desirable - NRSWA Units to supervisor level
  • Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively and work as part of a team
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Great communication skills at all levels
  • Underground and Overhead experience
  • Advantageous - Knowledge and experience of trenching, ducting, cabling, poling, splicing, and testing
  • Full UK Driving Licence
